DISTRICT DIRECTOR OF PRLS
Bonnie Cameron a member and past
president of the Cambria Rotary Club. She is a PRLS and Master
PRLS graduate, a Paul Harris Fellow, a Rotary Foundation Benefactor,
Bequest Society member and a recipient of the R.I. Four Avenues
of Service Award. She is a past Group 11 Representative and
is a current Assistant Governor.
INSTRUCTORS
Arnie Dowdy is a member
and Past President of the Rotary Clubs of Santa Paula and Pismo
Beach 5 Cities. He was District Governor during Rotary year
2003-04. He is a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow, Rotary Foundation
Major Donor and a Rotary Foundation Benefactor. He is also
a charter member of the District 5240 Paul Harris Society.
He is a PRLS and a Master PRLS graduate. Arnie
is the current District Rotary Foundation Chair (DRFC) and
is a recipient of the Rotary Foundation Citation for Meritorious
Service (CMS) and the "Four Avenues of Service" award. He teaches the "Rotary, Your Club and YOU" module
in Basic PRLS.
Les Esposito is a member and past President
of the Montecito Rotary Club. He has received the "Four Avenues of Service" award, been named "Rotarian of the Year" by his home club, served as the executive assistant governor and assistant governor of district 5240. He has also served as district Vocational Service, Club Service, Community Service and Membership and Extension Director of the Disrict. He and his wife, Joan, are multiple Paul Harris Fellows and PRLS graduates. He is a Rotary Foundation Benefactor and a Master PRLS graduate. He teaches the "Public Speaking" segment of Basic PRLS.
Bob Fonarow is a member of the Paso Robles
Rotary Club. He is a past and current club director of that
Club and is a PRLS and Master PRLS graduate. He is a member
of the National Speakers Association, a Distinguished Toastmaster
and a past District 4 Division A Governor of Toastmasters International.
He teaches Master PRLS 1 & 2 "Extemporaneous and Planned Public Speaking".
Stewart Fries is
a member and past president of the Solvang Rotary Club. During
his term as president, his Club won the Best Large Club in
the District award. He is a past Group Representative and is
an Assistant Governor as well as being a past District Rotarian
of the Year winner, past District Conference Chair and District
Vocational Service Director. He is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow
and a Rotary Foundation Benefactor and Bequest Society member.
Stewart is a PRLS and a Master PRLS graduate as well as a multiple
term and past District PRLS Director. He teaches the "Leading
a Meeting" and "Rotary, Your Club and YOU" modules
in Basic PRLS as well as Master PRLS 5 "Project Management".
Sharon Girod is
a member and past president of the China Lake Rotary Club.
Since 2004, she has been serving as Secretary of that Club.
She received the RI Four Avenues of Service Award in 2005 from
her Club and is a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow, Major Donor,
District 5240 Paul Harris Society Member and a Benefactor to
The Rotary Foundation. Additionally, she is a PRLS and Master
PRLS graduate and teaches the "Communications" module
in Basic PRLS.
David Gore is a member and past president
of the Goleta Noontime Club. He is a past Group Rep, Assistant
Governor, District Conference Chair, District Interact Chair,
and multiple time Midterms Coordinator. He is a multiple-Paul
Harris Fellow and a Rotary Foundation Benefactor. He was District
Rotarian of the Year for 1998-99. He is a Master PRLS graduate
and was the Director of the PRLS program in the District for
many years. He teaches the "Leading
a Meeting" module of Basic PRLS in addition to "Public Speaking",
Master PRLS 1 & 2, "Facilitation Skills"/Master PRLS 3, and "Situational Leasadership"/Master PRLS 4.
David is the PRLS Extension Chair for the District.
Don Gunderson is
a member and past president of the Fillmore Sun Riser Rotary
Club and its current Secretary-Treasurer. He is currently Treasurer of the District 5240 Charitable Foundation and was an Executive Assistant
Governor to PDG Sally Adelblue. He has served as an Assistant Governor, multiple
time Group Representative, District Assembly Chair and a member
of the District Long Range Planning Committee. He is a Multiple
Paul Harris Fellow, a Distinct Paul Harris Society member, Foundation Benefactor and Bequest Society member.
He is a PRLS and Master PRLS graduate and teaches Master PRLS
5 "Project Management".
Doug Hoffman is
a member of the San Luis Obispo Daybreak Rotary Club. He is
an Honored Toastmaster of Toastmasters International and a
past University Instructor. He is a Paul Harris Fellow, Rotary
Foundation Benefactor and Bequest Society member. He is a PRLS
and Master PRLS graduate and teaches the "Communications" and "Public Speaking" modules in Basic PRLS
as well as being the primary instructor for Master PRLS 1 & 2 "Extemporaneous
and Planned Public Speaking".
Mary Howard is a member of the
Oxnard Sunrise Rotary Club and past president of the Camarillo
Rotary Club. She is a past PRLS Registrar, Assemblies Registrar,
Group 6 Representative, Southern Area Site Coordinator and multiple
year District Secretary. She is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow,
a Rotary Foundation Benefactor, a PRLS and Master PRLS graduate
and teaches Master PRLS 1 & 2 "Extemporaneous and Planned
Public Speaking".
Jock MacKenzie is
a member and past president of the Westlake Village Club. He
is a PRLS and MPRLS graduate, a PHF, Major Donor, a Foundation
Benefactor and a charter member of the Paul Harris Society.
He was District Governor in 1995-96, and is now the District
Education and Training Director, and "The Strand" editor. He teaches in both the
PRLS and Master PRLS programs, and is in charge of the Master PRLS
Graduates Forum. He was District Rotarian of the Year in 1995, and
has received Rotary's highest honor, The RI "Service Above Self" Award.
Betty
Miller is a member and past president of the Santa Maria
Breakfast Rotary Club. She is a PRLS and MPRLS graduate, a
multiple Paul Harris Fellow, a Foundation Benefactor and a
charter member of the District 5240 Paul Harris Society. She
served as group 12 representative in 2003-04, as assistant
governor from 2004-06 winning the "Assistant
Governor of the Year" award for 2005-06 and is the District membership
Director for 2006-07. She teaches the "Leading with Vision" module
in Basic PRLS.
Valerie Moya is a member of the Solvang
Rotary Club. She is a past president of the Delano Club as
well as a past Group Representative and Assistant Governor.
She is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, a Rotary Foundation Benefactor
and Bequest Society member. She is a PRLS and a Master PRLS
graduate and teaches Master PRLS 5 "Project Management".
Susan Needleman Brown is
a Group 11 Rep, member and past president of the Templeton
Rotary Club. During her presidency, Templeton won Best Small
Club in the District for Rotary year 2004-05. She is a PRLS
and Master PRLS graduate, Paul Harris Fellow and a Rotary Foundation
Benefactor. She teaches the "Public Speaking" module
in Basic PRLS.
Wade Nomura is a charter member and past
president of the Carpinteria Morning Club. He is a multiple Paul Harris
Fellow, Rotary Foundation Benefactor and Bequest Society Member.
He is also a Distinct 5240 Paul Harris Society Member. He is
a PRLS and a Master PRLS graduate and teaches Master PRLS 1 & 2 "Extemporaneous
and Planned Public Speaking" as well as Master PRLS 3 "Facilitation", Master PRLS 4 "Situational Leadership", Master PRLS 5 "Project Planning".
David
Rachford is a member of the Santa Barbara Club. He is a
PRLS and Master PRLS graduate, a Paul Harris Fellow and a Foundation
Benefactor. He teaches "Leading
a Meeting" in Basic PRLS.
Rodney Skidmore is a member of
the Simi Sunrise Rotary Club. He is a Paul Harris Fellow, a
Rotary Foundation Benefactor and Bequest Society member. He
is both a PRLS and Master PRLS graduate who teaches "Public Speaking" and "Communications" in
the Basic PRLS curriculum as well as Master PRLS 1 & 2 "Extemporaneous
and Planned Public Speaking".
Kim
Woods is a member and Past President of the Westlake
Village Sunrise Rotary Club. She is a PRLS and Master PRLS
graduate, a Paul Harris Fellow and a Rotary Foundation Benefactor.
She is the current District Public Relations Chair. She teaches "Leading
a Meeting", "Communications" and "Basic
Leadership" modules
in Basic PRLS.
Bud
Biery is
a member and past president of the Rotary Club of China
Lake. He has served as Assistant Governor (2006-2007),
Group Representative (2005-2006), and District Membership and Personel
Committee member. He, along with his wife, is a multiple
Paul Harris Fellow and benefactor. He is a PRLS and
Master PRLS graduate. He teaches the Basic
PRLS module “Basic Leadership” and is in training
for several additional Basic and Master PRLS modules.

of Cambria, a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, a level two Bequest
Society member, a PRLS and Master PRLS graduate.
Southern District
Karen Furnari is a member of the Rotary Club
of Thousand Oaks and is a PRLS and Master PRLS graduate. She
is a Paul Harris Fellow and Rotary Foundation Benefactor. Karen
was Rookie of the Year and Rotarian of the Year in her club,
and has served in various ppositions, as well as on the Board
of Directors for two years. She has served as the District
Four Way Test Chair and recently as District Vocational Chair.
She has spoken on Vocation Service at the District Mid Term
Seminars, as well as at several District Assemblies.
